The Rauceby Little Footprint Initiative is a focus group whose vision is to focus on ways in which Rauceby as a village can modify the way we consume and live to allow our community to develop into a model of sustainability, both social and, in turn, environmental. It will not just be by discussing the issues and promoting them but also by bringing about the introduction of a variety of initiatives. The group will work closely with environmental agencies and local government, seeking advice and funding to bring about the development of the variety of initiatives.
A Fine Antique Furniture Restorer and Cabinet Maker by trade. Jonathan also is Editor of The Rauceby Parish News, Organiser of the Rauceby Picnic event and Co-Founder of the NOrMAL Appeal. In his business he is a keen advocate of the use of sustainable materials, so it is not a huge leap to apply these ethics to developing a model sustainable community. He is incredibly optimistic as to the challenges climate change will bring to our lives and strongly believes that the solutions to the global crisis can be borne from a community level. He believes that by working together a community can make the necessary changes to ensure a much brighter and healthier future for us all, thereby leaving a rewarding legacy for future generations.
As a founding member of the RLFI in 2008, Daniel is committed to developing the organisation to become an example of how Rauceby can be a model of sustainability and fight climate change, ensuring a bright and happy community for present and future generations.

History
The RLFI is the brainchild of Jonathan Hoare. The first meeting was held on 22nd July 2008. To date, the focus group has grown to twenty members. Group membership is open to all members of Rauceby's community. It is hoped that steering groups will form from this main group to work at implementing the various initiatives that we come up with. It is also hoped that as more of the community becomes engaged in the ideas of the RLFI then they will want to be involved with the running of the projects.
The RLFI is working closely with many environmental agencies and businesses. These include: Energy Savings Trust, Lincolnshire County Council's Strategic Partnership, SustainNK, Everybody’s Talking.org, Hill Holt Wood, Rauceby School’s Green Team, amongst a few. We have had a very close working relationship with David Webb of SustainNK, who has assisted us with a number of projects. Unfortunately for us David is moving on to more pastures green. He has been a huge contributor and will be sadly missed but we wish him well in his new position. We are also constantly consulting with the members of the community to ensure that the projects have the community's backing and to get feedback on how the initiative as a whole should be developing.
